Com242

Community242 is going about some changes. We have already moved from Thursday to Sunday. It was getting really hard to keep the kids (ours and others) up so late. Our time has changed to 4p.m. And the people are in a constant state of flux. Roger and Cynthia have purchased a home in Parker (Denver suburb), and will be moving after the first of the year. We have a couple of different families that are considering being a part of our church. There are also some younger people I have met through Starbucks who might be in the mix in the future.

This Sunday we are starting a study through the book of Acts. We are going to be focusing on the Mission of God in the world then and now! If this piques your interest and you're available let us know. We do need RSVPs however, because as always we enjoy a meal together.

A typical Sunday afternoon would include: hang out time, eating & drinking, prayer & singing, teaching & discussion.

Also new to Com242. We are starting a new prayer support team. Mostly people outside our community will agree to pray weekly for Com242, the pre-Christians we are building bridges with, our financial support, etc. Mimi and I will provide regular prayer updates/concerns/needs.

My friend Brian asked me recently how our support (financial) was going? I was honest! I said it sucked. Since May our support has gone from around $4000 per month to $2000 per month. Yeah it's that bad! We are looking into several solutions. I am working more hours at Starbucks (30-35 per week). Mimi is looking for students to tutor and considering a position at the YMCA a couple of nights per week. And we are seeking new people and churches to support us.

Recently we met with a couple, Warren & Connie, for guidance and support. They are an amazing couple and we fell in love with them. It was their suggestion to start the prayer team. And Warren suggested that we seek support from more churches. Currently only Lake Hills is supporting us. So that's what we are doing. If you wish to join our financial team or the prayer team, please send me an email: at frodo242@sbcglobal.net.
